How to Solve Your Secretarial Challenges! – Farhanna – Virtually Yours

Farhanna N

Farhanna N

Farhanna started Virtually Yours (Assistance) by fluke when she was helping a couple friends figure out a name for a small business they were starting up.  When she happened to come up with a name for their business, they asked her to handle all their office assistance and bookings for them.  Thus, Virtually Yours was born!
Virtually Yours (Assistance) started in March of 2009.  It evolved from there as Farhanna realized that what she was doing for her friends' company was a much needed service.
Today, Farhanna helps businesses increase their ROI by handling those essential little tasks that don't make money.  Some of those tasks are cold calling, word processing, faxing, and other office duties. What started out as a favour for friends has now grown to a full service office assistance business with Farhanna at the helm.
In the beginning, they had to do some network marketing, but now most of their business comes from "word of mouth".  Someone knows someone who has been very pleased with the services performed by Farhanna's staff.

What does Robert Kiyosaki say about Network Marketing? – Dianne Richards –

Dianne Richards is blazing a trail to true freedom...that's the ability to do what you want, when you want, and having the money to do it with!

Dianne Richards

Dianne Richards

Dianne was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta.  She attended the University of Alberta, obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Labour Relations and minors in Finance and Economics (How exciting is that?!)
As one of the lucky ones, Dianne secured a job in her chosen field of labour relations right out of University and then got even luckier when she was able to move to Vancouver in the late '80's.
Dianne did labour relations in the public and private sectors in the construction, health care, manufacturing and oil & gas industries and on the waterfront here in Vancouver.
For the last couple of years, her career moved more into the field of human resources and away from pure labour relations.
The training and coaching skills Dianne developed over the past couple of years has been hugely beneficial in her new business.
Dianne is married, no kids, but she does have two nieces that she loves dearly and spoils rotten every opportunity she gets.

Does the “M” in MLS mean “MONOPOLY”? – Robert Harrington – iRealter

This is an entertaining interview with a gentleman who is loving life, changing the Real Estate profession as we know it today and  having a

Robert Harrington

blast living it, Mr. Robert Harrington.
Robert Harrington is a retired guerrilla marketer who always innovated his own products from chemicals to new business sales techniques.
His claim to fame is his destruction of the BC Tel business model, which ended the monopoly and resulted in today's consumer choice and low cost telephone market.
Robert retired early, got bored, fell into Real Estate as a part time hobby; became more involved in Real Estate which resulted in him owning his own Real Estate Company.
And now in a replay of his previous success with the monopoly telephone business, has invented a new Real Estate platform to compete with the present MLS business model as he asks the question..."Does the M in MLS mean...Monopoly?"

How I Found My Career in Sales & Marketing. – Dean Mitchell – Sales Talent Agency

It is wonderful to know there are professional companies like the Sales Talent Agency and people like Dean Mitchell to help us with our

Marketing Guru

Dean Mitchell - Marketing

careers in Sales and Marketing!
Dean Mitchell was brought up in SW England, South of Bristol.  (You can tell by his lovely accent!) He has been involved with Sales and Marketing for 15+ years, and with Recruitment for 4 years.
Upon graduating from the University of Wales back in the UK, He combined his love of books and people to progress in the world of book publishing, specifically in the Sales & Marketing function at the University of Wales Press, managing five freelance sales representatives, key account sales and all marketing activities.  This gave him his first real life experience of Sales Management, Inside Sales, Business Development, Account management, key Accounts and a broad spectrum of Marketing skills.  Within two years they had doubled sales revenue through promotions, focusing on pushing more commercial authors & books and innovative marketing on a slim budget.
Dean then progressed to more mainstream publishing with the Orion Publishing Group, the number two book publisher in the UK, as one of their eleven Territory Managers representing such authors as Terry Pratchett, Michael Palin, Ian Rankin and Maeve Binchy to name a few.Within approximately a year, he had nearly doubled the sales revenue of his area and also reduced dead-stock and returns, another key statistic in book publishing.
Despite moving countries a number of times, all of Dean's roles have featured the combination of Sales & marketing.
Dean had some exposure to recruitment agencies as a hiring manager and also as a candidate, and he could see the value in the agency service from both sides when he was located in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
As time passed, Dean built a reputation for excellence, which then reached the ears of Jamie and the Sales Talent Agency, who then offered him a position to help continue their track record of success.  He felt a real synergy with Jamie and his team, on a professional and personal level.  Best of all it is continuing doing something that Dean loves; consulting with companies and finding recruitment solutions and mentoring great sales & marketing candidates on achieving their career objectives.
Dean Mitchell is helping the Sales Talent Agency of Vancouver and Toronto build a positive and professional presence both in person and online through the use of all the social media.
"For the love of sales!" (as Dean says)

A Modern Day “Roy Rogers”! Will Rogers

Remember "Roy Rogers", the famous TV western star who fought crime in the "old days"?

SAS Fundraiser - Will Rogers

Will Rogers

Here is a story about a modern day "Roy Rogers", and believe it or not, his name is "Will Rogers"!  Will Rogers reminds me of the western crime fighters like Roy Rogers, and the Lone Ranger.  He is fighting a battle for sure, but it is a battle fighting crime against women today. Will Rogers has been doing "Iron Man" races/challenges for 20 years, and decided to retire from this type of event, as it seemed to be the same old-same old.  -But the next day he was wondering what he was going to do as he felt he just couldn't stop and become restless.  So, Will immediately started to plan a run of some sort.  He broke out the Canadian map and started to draw lines of routes on it for a, yet to be determined, charity run.  Then he settled on Victoria to Penticton as it was mile "0" of the Trans-Canada Highway and he had family in Penticton ... and the Ironman was there as well.  Will had no idea how to go about approaching a charity, so he called Diane Watts, the Mayor of Surrey, who suggested SAS (Servants Anonymous Society).  He sent them an email and the rest, as they say, is history! Will believes that the work that SAS does is an extreme example of tough, dedicated, determined people trying to make a difference in the lives of people in their own community, that through very little fault of their own find themselves in an impossible situation being controlled in every way by a pimp and used as an iullicit sexual money-maker for their masters through fear and brutality. Marketing is on the fly in Will's case with posters talks local paper and radio interviews around the swim, bike, and run events and handing out cards to whoever will take one.  The BC Ambulance email newsletter has been a great help reaching 4,000 paramedics as well as management around the province.  He is planning a large media announcement, possibly this fall. Many people want to know what they can do to help especially if they have had some exposure to the sex trade.  Will tells them that $20 a month will go a long way.  Stay tuned for more announcements.
